My faulty observation, leads me to believe that modern critics want serious composing to be a characteristic of the dead not of the living. Or as one manager said..."We don't work with music composed by PEOPLE."

Well i have found some people that enjoy listening to me perform Beethoven the way he really composed. Hunting around to find the right notes.
I hate to say it since i am not really such a great pianist, but i think some of the educational encrustations have really retarded composing. What did Beethoven, or Mozart or Chopin really sound like at the piano, when they weren't playing with a pencil? I'll tell you one thing...they could spew new music like a machine, and it was easy, and there was a lot that was never written. That's three things.
